Share the Faith Ministries —Orthodox Christian Mission
Dear in the Lord brothers and sisters,
I am writing to you in support of your mission. As your organization attests, “Share the
Faith is a non-profit, pan-Orthodox organization dedicated to leading people to Orthodoxy through
raising monies to supplement Orthodox clergy who serve very small, needy, mission parishes in
North America.”
This is an important and laudable goal, which assists us with a specific, vital need.
The work of our missions in America is critical in bringing Orthodoxy to our communities.
There is a great need for this “on-the-ground” level of interaction and contact. By definition, such
missions tend to be small —and there tend to be many of them. This allows for the one-to-one level
of evangelism and catechism that is needed. However, our missions do not have the infrastructure
and the regular parishioner support that serve as a stable core and financial base in our larger
parishes. This underscores the need for the work being done by Share the Faith.
Your Pan-Orthodox Fund for Mission Priests in North America is specifically aimed at
helping with exactly this issue. Our mission parishes and priests have been the beneficiaries of your
generosity and have been able to continue and expand their work. Some have even been able to take
advantage of your help and grow into a self-sustaining, operational parish.
We thank you for —and fully endorse —your efforts, calling down God’s blessings upon this
good undertaking.
