His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon to Concelebrate with His Beatitude Archbishop Stefan of Macedonian Orthodox Church

 

August 9, 2025, the first concelebration of the heads of the MOC-OA and the Orthodox Church of America, Archbishop Stephen and Metropolitan Tikhon, is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2 in Washington. The news was announced this morning by the Orthodox Church of America. Other bishops from both churches are expected to serve at the liturgy.

On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon will celebrate the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with His Beatitude Archbishop Stefan of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Archdiocese of Ohrid. This celebration will mark the official recognition of the newest and youngest autocephalous Orthodox Church in the world by the Orthodox Church in America, the OCA announced.

A memorial service will begin at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church. Nicholas, in Washington. Also, present and available for worship for the faithful will be the miraculous myrrh-flowing Iveron Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos of Hawaii and the holy relics of the newly glorified Righteous Olga of Kvetluk.

This concelebration comes after Metropolitan Tikhon publicly recognized the Macedonian Orthodox Church for the first time during the 21st All-American Council, held July 14-18, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.
