In a world where we often focus on our own busy lives, it’s crucial to take a step back and consider those who are struggling every day just to exist. In the heart of America, priests and their families are facing unimaginable challenges. Yet, amidst these hardships, there are dedicated priests who, despite receiving a fraction of the compensation that some more fortunate clergy members do, are tirelessly working to provide assistance and support to those around them.
These priests are the embodiment of selflessness, and they are here to help, to uplift, and to make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. They are the true heroes of our communities, and now it’s our turn to stand by their side.

It’s crucial to understand that the burden of helping those in need should not fall solely on the shoulders of a few dedicated individuals. We are all part of a larger community and share the responsibility of caring for one another.
The Holy Orthodox Church is not just a place of worship; it’s a beacon of hope and compassion. While there are undoubtedly many saintly priests among us, most are caught up in a system of maintenance and struggle to prioritize what truly matters: nurturing clean hearts and helping others prepare for the eternal journey that awaits us all: Αιωνιότητα
These priests can be our advocates, our representatives, and our messengers of hope. They can reach out to those who are incarcerated, visit homeless shelters, offer support to college students in need (where we occasionally find hopeless and at risk kids), and provide companionship to the elderly in nursing homes who have no one else to turn to.
In the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by our efforts and support may we hear: “Come, children of a foreign land” (Εμπρός, Παιδιά της ξενιτιάς) and not “leave me, You whom I’ve never known” (φύγετε από Εμε δε σας ξέρω) (Matthew 7:23). It’s a reminder that we must come together as a community to make a difference.
